Mercury Meltdown is the follow-up to Archer Maclean's Mercury. Mercury Meltdown has built upon and enhanced the game from the first. It offers new graphics, game modes, and features. The graphics have been updated to a more vibrant and colorful style resembling that of comics. Mercury Meltdown also adds some party games. Along with this are two new states that your mercury can be in; it can be frozen solid, or even warmed up to be closer to liquid.

For those not familiar with any of the Mercury games, it's a puzzle game where you have a blob of mercury that you navigate through an obstacle course by using the analog stick to tilt the level. It takes control and quick thinking to solve the obstacles that stand in your way to make it to the end.

The game is a bit easy at first, but as you progress it gets harder. You also unlock a bonus level in each lab and party games with collection bonus points. The party games are okay, some are fun, and a few are just lame and annoying. I also think the changes in the graphics from the first are a big plus as it brings a more fun and less serious atmosphere to the game.

The game is fun and challenging. I found myself taking my PSP out whenever I had a bit of time to kill. Mercury Meltdown is the perfect on the go game with each level taking a few minutes or less to complete.
