Pinball Hall of Fame : The Gottlieb CollectionReviewed by
John Burrell Jr.
Imagine a time in history where there was no Playstation 2, X-Box, or Nintendo Gamecube. This may sound like a bad episode of the Twilight Zone to some of the younger gamers out there, but it did exist at one point. What did bored adults and children do before videogames were sent in to take over the world of entertainment? Well they played a little game called pinball. The good people at FarSight Studios and Crave Entertainment have come together to bring the old to the new with Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection. This game consists of eleven tables spanning the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. The game is what I call a great time waster in that it's something that you can pick up and play to kill some time really quickly or play at length if you so desire. The game sharing capability for up to two players is a great upside, as you only need one UMD to play with a buddy. There are also a lot of great facts about each one of the tables and their history packed on the UMD. The game brings to life the art and sounds of the original tables giving off a feel of being in an actual pinball arcade. There are also three tables that were never before seen in a Pinball Hall of Fame game. On the other hand, this game may be only suitable for those who love pinball as its appeal to the newer gamer may be passed its prime. Screenshots:

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection earns a medium Evo Factor from me because it's for pinball lovers for the most part. If you don't have a thing for the bright lights and high scores of the real deal, then this is not for you. Conversely, if 10x multipliers and multi-ball bonuses are your cup of tea and you own a PSP, then getting this game should be a no-brainer.
