God of War starts off with the story about Kratos; you see him leap from a high mountain cliff to his death because the gods have abandoned him. After 10 years of suffering and fighting, he escapes his madness. Then the story goes back three weeks prior, where you see the Kratos jump on a boat with his two swords at hand ready to kill.

Controls are the square button is a light attack and the triangle is the heavy attack, the R1 is a shoulder ram and the L1 button when hold down is a simple block but hold it down and pressing the square button is useful because Kratos does an spinning aero attack where the jumps, spins with his swords out in order to attack his enemy. You can grab an enemy also and pummel him to his death or even slam him to the ground and Kratos shoves his swords into the enemy.

In order to open chests and doors, you use the corresponding button on the lower left corner. When you get to fight the hydras, you will see a button icon that flashes against the screen: if pressed in time, you get the chance to dodge the hydra's attack in the tunnel while you do a punishing attack by slamming the hydra into the side of the wall.  If you succeed in those attacks, you will get to shove your swords into the hydra, chasing him away. Then you get the chance to fight the next hydra, which you fight in another view.  When you make it toward the end of the level, you will be jumping from boat to boat you see two hydras you fight, but in the background you see the biggest on them all.

Without spoiling the story it is worth getting God of War. The graphics and the game play is good and the controls are done pretty user friendly The God of War game ia a hit and if Sony keeps to the same format for their other games, I would be interested in what this first party studio has to offer.. With this type of game play I give this game a nine out of ten.
