Opening a package that contains a new addition to a collection is probably one of the most exciting times for an avid collector. When I opened the package that contained this watch, I was not disappointed, in fact, I felt like a little kid during Halloween counting the candy cache.
Contents and Description:
Inside a shinny black cardboard box, with the ‘Star Wars' logo printed on top, I found the black tin storage case. The case is decorated with a likeness of Yoda, very reminiscent of the Clone Wars animation style. On two sides of the case, in vibrant and elaborate green letters, one finds Yoda-Jedi Master written. The same writing is present under the lid.
The watch itself is stunning. The stainless steel case has the ‘Star Wars' logo etched on the side. The Yoda artwork was performed on a thin silver piece with masterful use of vibrant green and gold along with accents of onyx black. The silver piece artwork is placed on an elegant black-to-green sunray dial. The most eye-catching attribute has to be the light-saber seconds hand. It has a very small vibration that adds a bit of Jedi flare. To top it all off, the genuine black leather strap has a Yoda emblem embossed on both sections.
Honestly, I found it difficult to take it out of the box. My first inclination was to leave it inside the storage case and display it along with my other Star Wars collectibles.
Stress Test:
After much contemplation, I decided to take it out of its grand setting and take it out for a spin, so to speak.
For the past thirty or so days, I have worn it religiously. Very comfortably strapped to my wrist, I have taken it to work, exercised, traveled, and even subjected it to the dreaded Christmas shopping environment of a local mall. It has been subjected to varying climates (very cold to hot) and even some inclement weather.
I know, I know… poor Yoda.
I am very happy to inform viewers of a happy and successful first month-long date. It looks and performs as magnificently as it did a month ago.
No discernable scratches or blemishes present anywhere on the case or the strap.
Final Thoughts:
Whether an avid watch collector or Star Wars theme collector, it is impossible to be disappointed by this choice. In fact, everyone that saw at this watch voiced high praise.
Considering only 2000 Yoda watches will be released, not buying one before they are sold out, will disappoint the collector.
