Product: Star Wars Watches |
In a Collector's galaxy known to us all, Fossil, Inc. has created an exciting line of Star Wars themed watches worthy of eliciting praise and collector frenzy.
I had my first opportunity to see these watches at the Comic Con convention in San Diego , CA earlier this year. The rapid heart-beat I developed as I saw my personal favorite, Yoda (Clone Wars animation style), quickly turned into a sinking feeling as I noticed it would not be released until
October, 2005.
Five watches in all will be released in 2005 in limited quantities.
| LI2525 Clone Wars (2,000 pcs) | LI2524 Darth Vader (Black watch 1,000 pcs) | LI2546 Darth Vader (Silver watch- 2,000 pcs) | LI2527 Rebel Icon (summer show/Fossil web exclusive 500 pcs) | LI2518 Yoda (2,000 pcs). |
Each watch comes with a storage case worthy of collector praise. The cases have stunning and brilliant color artwork like the watches. Each watch varies in size; Darth Vader appears to be the largest, while Yoda seems to be the smallest.
Product warranty is a bit short (1-year). According to the Fossil.com guarantee/repair statement, other Fossil Brand watches have an astounding 11-year warranty period. Granted, the products do seem sturdy and being a long-time Fossil watch user, I would not expect any problems, but it should be taken into consideration when evaluating it's long-term value.
Whether purchasing a watch to wear or to display with other collectibles, these items should be placed on the buy-list immediately. There is a sea of Star Wars themed product in the marketplace, but few have the unique look, quality, and brand name backing found in these watches. If they came with a longer warranty period, I would have given them a high evolution factor.
