Defcon Skins : iPodReviewed by Leland Bonaparte
Defcon Skins is an up and coming company in Toms River, New Jersey that manufactures custom skins for your gaming consoles or handheld systems. There is no doubt in my mind that the skins are of high quality and very durable. Their company was present at the last E3, and the visual details of their products were like no other. Defcon used to be a car detailing company before their switch to game skins. No wonder the stuff is top notch. The Tronix skin has a very futuristic look, but also looks cool. The blue really highlights the colors of the skins. One of the most popular skins I have seen was the Detonator. Its black and green camouflage and bright red button give it a James Bond look. You'll really get the feel as though your iPod is explosive. The woodland scene has a spooky, Blair Witch effect to it. I must admit that it got a fair response from fellow iPod users. When I asked which skin most appeal to them, the Detonator was really popular. The skins look good, but how do they feel? Well, I took the iPod version through a scratch test, drop test, scuffing test and then gave it to a kid. No cracking or bubbling, and the surface was clear and smooth. I even removed the skin several times from the iPod, and no residue or bubbling.

Defcon Skins
There are some skins out there that I would not give a second look. Some are made poorly and even last no longer than a day. However, Defcon Skins consist of protective quality and designs to make your iPods happy. Putting them on or taking them off will not damage your iPod. Defcon Skins is currently producing more designs, so we can expect to see more variety soon. You can check them out at
