Diner Dash - SpongeBob EditionReviewed by
Britt-Lee Hood
Diner Dash is one of those games that starts off small on a search engine game page or on some other website filled with hundreds of downloadable flash games. Over the last couple of years Diner Dash has made an impact, so much so that it has not only had a sequel – Diner Dash 2 – but that they have gone so far as to make the SpongeBob Diner Dash! Not too awfully long ago, Diner Dash was released onto the market as a PC game, not just as a download. Soon thereafter SpongeBob was brought into the picture. Wielding his spatula and innocent yet sometimes irritating laughter, you can guide him through the game in the same basic setup as the game’s predecessor. In the career mode you can go through level by level and complete the set goal by keeping your customers happy, by doing the same task more than once, and of course by color coordinating the customers to their respectively colored seats. In the Endless Shift mode you can do basically the same thing, difference is, there aren’t any breaks. You must maintain the atmosphere and keep your employee of the month stars to keep the shift going. After each goal is filled you’ll gain an opportunity to buy power-ups to help you maintain your restaurant. The power-ups in this edition, while somewhat similar, still model after pure Krusty Krab style! Sea foam drinks and a dancing Patrick help to keep the game entertaining, and your customers happily waiting!

The Evolution Factor for this game is probably about Low to Medium. The game will probably not be too popular within the next ten years, but chances are, we’ll still play it. In 5 years people may not really remember SpongeBob, or what Diner Dash is, and it will probably no longer be on the market. But in light of all of this, I know I’ll still be playing it.
