The title and hype set my hopes way too high; I thought it looked cool, but looks can be deceiving. The sailing is horrendous. There was no fast way to travel and the islands were very far apart. Plus it doesn’t help that there are no tutorials to guide you through the sailing system.
The combat is also horrible. On land you have to draw your weapon and attack, with a 5 second delay between attacks. While sailing, it tells you about an enemy vessel when you are about 16 miles away from it and it took me a while just to get used to the controls of switching between 1st and 3rd person on a ship and selecting the range of fire. I don’t think this game was tested before it was released to the public.
This game isn’t worth picking up except for the artwork. The art they have is very good but it doesn’t make up for the bad game play. The artists put good work into a bad game.
Overall the game left a very bad impression on me. I think the developers need to look at what they’re making before they release it. This is more of a game you would borrow from a friend.
