Mr. Smith is a man who, one day through unfortunate luck, decides to help a woman being pursued by a group of men. He finds himself caught in a large scale conspiracy between a group of hitmen and a newborn baby. Why the baby is being hunted he does not know, but he is compelled to find answers and protect the baby from harm. Through the barrel of his gun, he'll find the answers he seeks and uncover one of the most sinister plans hidden from the eyes and ears of the public.

From beginning to end I couldn't stop saying, "Whoa!" Literally my jaw dropped at some of these scenes. The movie is called Shoot ‘Em Up for a reason and it does not disappoint. Obviously the shooting scenes were ridiculous, from warehouse shootouts to a scene where everyone is having a shootout while skydiving. While the story was pretty basic, it does contain little twists here and there but nothing too epic. Characters are instantly likeable and the actors do a great job of portraying their roles. The R rating is there for a reason though. Blood, sex, violence...sexual violence, it's all there and nothing is held back. All and all, the only problem I could really find is how short it was, but even that wasn't enough to lower the movie's rating. Seriously there was no lack of story telling and no bad transitions to be found. It was perfect in the sense of completion unlike other movies that seem hurried and lose the audience’s concentration.

I give Shoot ‘Em Up a Med-High Evolution Factor. Not that the story was bad, but I’m sure some would expect a little more. Does that mean it's not as good? Hell no. It means that if you miss this movie in theaters, you WILL regret it. Take your friends, take your family, take anyone you think would love a great action film with enough bullets flying to make even John Woo blush.
