Batman Begins

Now this is a "Batman" movie DC can be proud of backing. No more cheap theatrics or "bat boobs". David Goyer actually does justice to the frequenlty abused DC character. The story begins with Bruce Wayne, a wanderer searching for his own purpose, trying to escape his only fear. He was put in a prison for defending some villagers against some bullies. It is here where they introduce Bruce's training to "turn fear against those who prey on the fearful."

I must applaud the casting director for his balanced choice of star studded actors and up and coming stars. Christian Bale gave an excellent performance and really defined the two separate lives of reckless playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne and justice seeking Batman. Michael Caine gave Alfred's character a refreshing perspective of not just the butler/helper of Bruce but as a surrogate father. The introduction of a host of other characters redefined the "dark knight's" beginnings and paved the way hopefully, for more to come.

The action was more than enough to keep me occupied. The highflying leaps and the technological gadgets were more than sufficent to keep
an adrenaline rush going. Kudos for Christopher Nolan bringing out the true "Batman" the comic fans and movie fans deserve.
