Sky BarReviewed by James Cunningham
My first bite was caramel and it complimented the rich milk chocolate quite well. The caramel filling was thick, so unlike other caramel-filled chocolate bars, it didn’t seep out as I bit into it. The next section was peanut. I expected a peanut butter cup taste, but I was wrong, and slightly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good, it tasted just like it should: like peanuts; but it was inconsistent with the rest of the fillings and caught me a little off guard. The next filling was vanilla, and it too was delicious. It tasted very much like a crème Cadbury egg; which is wonderful because I love Cadbury eggs. And finally, the fudge filling, which was basically creamy chocolate in chocolate; nothing too special, but good nonetheless. Necco’s Sky Bar (now that I think of it, I don’t get the significance of the name, but oh well) is perfect for when you can’t decide what kind of chocolate bar you want. The wrapper tells you what order the fillings are in, but that’s no fun, so I broke them apart and mixed them. That way, I didn’t know what filling to expect, so it was kind of like chocolate bar Russian Roulette. The chocolate is a little over-powering, but that can be a good thing too, just depends on how much you like chocolate I suppose. The filling variety was fun, delicious, and a great idea. If you haven’t tried Necco’s Sky Bar, go try it; if you have tried it, keep it up.

Necco has been doing it for over 150 years and they’ve got it down to a T! The Sky Bar is a chocolate bar made into 4 thick sections, each with filling. The amazing thing about the Sky Bar however, is that each of the sections has a different kind of filling. There is a caramel filling, vanilla filling, peanut filling, and fudge filling, so let’s break them down one by one.
