Most people haven’t heard of this product, unless they’ve gone inside any asian market because it is unavailable at most local supermarkets. Here we have Calpico, the non-carbonated dairy alternative to any soda or soft-drink. If you enjoy the taste of fruit in a beverage then Calpico is going to be a new friend to you.

Started in 1991, Calpico’s base recipe remains true, however the flavor varieties have increased steadily over the years. The Calpico line has the following beverages: original, strawberry, grape, guava, mango, orange, melon, lychee, and peach, to name a few.

The eye catching white and blue polka-dot covered bottle marks the original Calpico. The beverage has the consistency of thinned milk, which is a surprising taste for the western palate. It’s only when you take a sip of the drink do you catch the hint of citrus, almost like a slightly milky carbonated lemonade. Despite the unusual taste, Calpico is quite tasty and ended up being a pleasant surprise for me.

I suggest going out there and buying the series of Calpico. They’re delicious, the price is good, for a $1.50 and available in larger sizes as well. The bottles are just plain neat to look at also.
