As an avid video gamer and movie-watching couch potato I can't recall a time I did not have a good drink at my side. During the colder months of the year I tend to switch from cool drinks to hot drinks like coffee, hot chocolate, and tea.

When I first opened the individually packaged tea bag it had an interesting scent, not an unpleasant one, but it was definitely an Asian scent, reminiscent of cooked rice. Once I placed the bag in hot water the scent switched to a strong smell, in fact, the strong smell reminded me of Nori.

The taste was very subtle and mild in nature, on the whole, quite pleasant.

Overall, I would say this product is adequate, but the Nori smell alone would not qualify it for casual drinking. Regrettably, the smell overpowers the taste. Tea is a scent and taste experience, both must be pleasant and balanced. I would definitely categorize this tea as an acquired taste.

I would keep a box of this tea only to give visiting friends an option from the assortment of teas I offer.

The overpowering smell keeps this item off my personal drink list.
