Amp is an energy drink made by the people who brought you Mountain Dew. It takes the formula of Mountain Dew, tweaks it, and adds taurine, ginseng, B-vitamins, guarana, and maltodextrin (not to mention even more caffeine). It comes in 8.4 ounce cans and is lightly carbonated. There is also a 16 ounce tallboy version. The product packaging is uniquely designed with the familiar silver, green, and red coloring of mountain dew on a black background. Being a huge fan of Mt. Dew in general, there was no way I could pass this up when I first saw it.

Amp, unlike some energy drinks, has a pleasant, mellow taste. Not as sweet as its sugary counterpart, Amp has a nice finish that will pack the energy punch you need to keep on your day. The beverage is different enough to distinguish itself from the well known brand. The tallboy version tastes just like the regular Amp, but in a soda form.

In a market currently over saturated with energy drinks, Amped is a winner. It packs a decent energy kick, tastes great, and is decently priced.
