Murder Princess OVAReviewed by Von Jared Omo
As Dr. Akamashi engages in a coup d’etat with his androids by his side, all seems lost for the Kingdom of Forland as the king dies at the throne. Since the Prince is nowhere to be found due to his duty in the military, the last chance to save the heir of Forland is if the Princess flees from the castle in order to somehow reach her brother. During the escape, Princess Alita runs into a bounty hunter named Falis and they both fall off a cliff. During the near-death experience, Falis and the Princess seem to switch bodies resulting in some bizarre magical mishap. As they both wake up, they are both surprised at first realizing that they are in each other’s bodies. However, the Princess (who is in Falis’s body) asks Falis (who is in the Princess’s body) to protect her kingdom and offers her own body and soul as collateral. Falis accepts the offer and defeats Dr. Akamashi, his androids, and his beasts causing him to retreat during the battle. The butler is told what happened and disguises the Princess (who is in Falis’s body) as his granddaughter Milano. As they take back the castle, Falis (who is in the Princess’s body) and her accomplices Dominikov and Pete, show that a stronger and more brutal Princess Alita has arrived, giving birth to the name Murder Princess. Some of the scenes in the anime are slightly different from the manga, such as the scene where the Princess and Falis switch bodies. However, these are only slight changes as the anime still portrays the action and story of the manga quite well. The story is very engaging and the action sequences are amazing as they somewhat have an equal amount of gore. Viewers will be amazed at some of the fight scenes and may even cause their jaws to drop and say “Whoa!” The anime is well drawn and the voice acting is quite good as it is not done in an overacting way or in an emotionless manner, which means it fits the anime.
