Inukami!Reviewed by Jason Balslew
Inukami are powerful beasts with the appearance of dogs. They can also take on the shape of humans with a tail. Their purpose is the destruction of all evil. Keita Kawahira comes from a long line of Inukami tamers, those who make contracts with the Inukami. Together the tamer and Inukami protect humans by fighting evil in its various forms. However, Keita was never able to get an Inukami to make a contract with. This lead to him being the black sheep of the family. One day, an Inukami named Youko showed up willing to forge a contract with Keita. Little did he know what trouble he was in for. Youko is a troublesome Inukami, tricking Keita into her being the master. They now together, fight demons, spirits and the occasional naked ghost. Inukami is a hilarious comedy, at times almost bordering on slapstick. Youko wants nothing but for Keita to be her boyfriend and lavish attention on her. Keita, on the other hand, wants nothing but girls, money, and girls. Oh, and did I mention girls? With Youko being short tempered and fiercely jealous, this is not a good combination. Add in Keita’s family, other Inukami, and wacky enemies (nearly naked, dog possessed karate club who licks everything in sight?) and you have one crazy show. The animation is above average, fluid, with pleasant looking characters and backgrounds. Sound is good as well, and the opening and ending themes are both quite catchy. |

I was tempted to give an Evo Factor of High. The only reason I gave Inukami a Medium-High Evolution Factor is because it may not be for everyone. If you like your anime serious, or if you are under 13, this show will not be for you. Everyone else, ENJOY!
