Having been born in a secret government laboratory that cultivated esper (telepathic) powers within humans, Shuuichi and his two sisters, Sumire and Katsumi, are forced to endure a difficult life as test subjects until their escape. Years later, these siblings are still being pursued by unknown organizations that are after Shuuichi's powers as he is what they refer to as the “zero-sample” with the ability to cause “zero-shock.”

Based on a PC video game of the same title, Zero is the prequel to the game and encompasses a truly stunning story in which a young man must protect himself and his two sisters from those who are after their special abilities. The artwork is great and has a final fantasy style look to it. The dialogue never seems to go dry and translations are okay.

It's another sci-fi manga with a possibility of going to an epic story, but with the first read, I'm not so sure. Not a read for beginner manga readers; this book can get lengthy in terms of keeping your interest. For the advanced manga reader, pick this one up. The action will keep you buying more.
