Unbalance UnbalanceReviewed by Angie Quidim
Jin-Ho finds and returns a lost wallet and cell phone to a beautiful young lady who he has no idea would be part of his near future. This is where the story begins as Ms. Hae-Young Na meets the young lad and discovers a few things from him, such as his twisted sense of right and wrong. As soon as she searches through her reclaimed belongings, she noticed that the young man helped himself to a reward from the wallet before returning it! When school is back in session, the two unsuspecting characters meet again under different circumstances. Jin-Ho discovers that the lovely young lady is actually his new homeroom teacher. Ms. Na has not forgotten the deeds of her student and is also unforgiving. The clash between the two hard-headed main characters leads into some laughs as well as intense moments that bring them closer to a different kind of relationship. The artwork in this manga is more of a recent style where the characters are quite animated in their actions and situations. A good depiction of the dialogue is done by the artist. The story flows with brief interruptions of drama as the rebellious student and the unrelenting teacher go at it. The character development of the two is good enough to have me wanting to know what would happen next.

The comedic value in this series is worth the $9.95 price point. Although the publisher markets this title as a serious love story (which it does contain), it still has some good comedy relief to break up the drudgery. The situations that these two main characters get into are hysterical and illustrated well. But in the end, all these elements add to a well-written love story. Some of the situations can be a little much for those parents or teenagers who don't like the innuendos. This manga may be suggestive, but it's all in light hearted fun. The book is recommended for readers ages 15 and up so the content isn't too bad. This book is a wonderful read for those into the light hearted romance stories that put two unwilling parties into situations that bring them closer.
